I am a reformed chronic nail biter. So are many members of my family. Nail biting was a curse that none of seemed to be able to cure. After many failed attempts trying all kinds of products and methods designed to help for nail biting, I decided to get very serious about quitting. I thought, "Who is the boss of me, my stupid can't seem to quit nail biting habit, or me?"
As I studied the whole process, ritual if you will, of the chewing fingernails problem, I realized it goes deeper than just putting your fingers in your mouth. Anyone dedicated to biting fingernails and cuticles knows there all manner of nearly unconscious habits that precede the actual nail biting process.
I came up with a system that worked for me so that I finally was able to quit nail biting once and for all! I want to help you learn how to stop biting your nails. The idea to write a book came from family and friends who saw how my nails looked after years of seeing the results of steadily chewing nails.
Those who were nail biters asked me how I did it. When I showed them the methods I developed through trial and error, they tried them and it worked for them too. Anyway I got lots of encouragement to write a book and tell others how to quit nail biting for good. You can click on the image of the book on the right or
here to get more information about it. I can tell you my confidence and pride in my appearance dramatically improved once my nails were grown and the shame of hiding them went away.
I also decided to launch this free public online forum and to call it Nail Biters Anonymous. I decided to use the alias here of Stubbs Nomore. I gave the forum its name because I find nailbiting to be a mostly lonely shameful habit. I mean you just usually don't talk about it at the dinner table or in social situations. At least I didn't. Anyway I thought having a safe private, anonymous place to come give and get advice and share successes and failures would be a welcome thing by those whoe are trying to learn how to quit. Whether you buy my book or find a way to get the job of quitting your nail biting behind you is what I care about. To that end, I wish you great success in your effort to learn how to stop biting your nails.
Cheers,
Stubbs
